Mentor Program
As the Multilingual Academy evolved, we found that there were some students who advanced to the point in our ELD program where they were mainstreamed into regular English classes but wanted to remain part of the MLA. So, the Mentor program was born. Now when students go into the mainstream English classes, they have the option of continuing with the MLA as Mentors. The Mentors assist at Activity Days and on the field trip, and they are included in all MLA activities. Some become tutors in ELD classes or MLA teacher aides. Our Mentors are expected to be models to the academy students, and they are a great help to the students and staff in the academy.
