They can help by sharing their knowledge when we need it, encouraging us to do well in school and in our life, stop us when we are doing something wrong, and congratulate us when we do something good.

My mom talks to me every day after school when I get home.  She asks me about school and homework.  She asks me if she can help.

I think parents need to spend some time with their sons and daughters and ask them what they have been doing in school...if they have a  problem or if they need help with something to tell them.

My parents review my homework.  Parents should pay attention to their teenagers and keep in touch with the teachers, etc.
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
They give me rewards and incentives.
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
Have open communication with your sons and daughters.

They assign a time and a place for me to work.  I have to finish my homework before I go out.

My father congratulates me for good grades.

They help me with my homework, and they give me money or presents if I have good grades.

Parents can help by helping with homework and talking to their son or daughter.  If they have good communication, they can help them.

Parents can help by talking to their teenagers, with respect, or by putting them in tutoring.

I think spending some time talking would help.
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
They check that I did all my homework.  They always tell me that my only job is to study.  Sometimes I play a math game with my dad to see who gets the correct answer first, and that makes me learn.

They remind me about my homework.
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
Parents should take more time for their teenagers and talk to them about school.  What is their favorite class and why?  What did they learn?   It helps if the parents play math games - it makes it more fun to learn.
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
They tell me that it is very important to continue my studies and to get good grades.  They want me to have a profession so that I don't suffer like them.
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
My parents get me involved in other programs that help students...I went to a camp at UC Riverside in the summer and it was fantastic!
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
It's important for parents to attend meetings.
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
Don't permit TV watching if they have a lot of homework.
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
My parents help me with words I don't know.
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
My parents help me by giving me all the materials that I need and checking if I do my homework every day.
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
Parents need to give support by telling them not to give up, helping them if they don't understand how to do the homework and having constant contact with their teachers.
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
Parents should encourage them if they get good grades.
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
Parents need to tell them to do their work, go to school, respect their teachers, and do their projects.
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
My aunt always tells us to read.  When we are watching TV, she tells us to read or do something that will help us learn.
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
They let me know they are proud of me.
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
The major way is talk to them...help them with what you can...always give them love.  Teaching how to love is the best thing that parents can give to us.
