Academy Awards

Each May, a special event happens at La Puente High School...the Multilingual Academy Awards! Academy teachers vote on a variety of categories like All Academy Team, Most Improved, and Leadership; awards are also given for the highest grade point averages, and Fluency awards are given to students who earn redesignation. Senior academy students are honored at this event too, and the Mentors and teachers are recognized for their participation and support. The students' families are all invited to attend this evening celebration. After the awards are given, the attendees are treated to a Folklorico performance and a multimedia presentation that includes pictures that were taken throughout the year set to music.The room is decorated in advance by the MLA Art class, assisted by the LPHS Floral Design teacher and students. Delicious refreshments are provided by the school cafeteria manager. It's a wonderful evening to remember!
